Catalyst Arts is an artist-led organisation based in Belfast. Established in 1993 it has since built a reputation as an innovative and experimental space for contemporary art, through its gallery programme, public projects, artists commissions and its performance and live art biennial FIX. Catalyst Arts is a not for profit, charitable organisation which is publicly funded. It is run by a board of co-directors, voluntarily on a two years basis. Its mission is to promote and improve the production of works of artistic merit by emerging, mid-career and established artists through the provision of workshops, talks, resources, exhibitions, residencies and events. In addition it aims to advance the education and training of cultural practitioners in Northern Ireland by the provision of critical resources and access to mentoring. Catalyst Arts is committed to developing and maintaining working relations with national and international arts organisations through collaboration and exchange programmes.

Aims and objectives:
1. To maintain a multi-disciplinary centre for contemporary art in Northern Ireland to facilitate local and international artists in a broad range of innovative projects and activities.
2. To act as a training ground for professional artistic, cultural and curatorial talent in Northern Ireland through its unique directorship model.
3. To provide resources and provisions for the production and exhibition of works of artistic merit through exhibitions, residencies, archival and technological resources, networking opportunities and international partnerships and exchanges.
